A pack of wolves 🐺
The distribution of Sahyadri mountains across Maharashtra is vastly unequal, especially in the Nashik-Ahmednagar region. Mountains of that region make you reconsider your decision. The trek which we decided to go on was in that region. Harishchandragad. On top of that, we chose the arduous route of Ganesh Khind. After reaching the base village of Harishchandragad, I realized that one thing is clear that the turmoil is going to happen in the dead of night. And as I expected, chaos occurred. But, an elegant entity reduced the amplitude of that turmoil and, that thing was a cloudless unblemished clear astral sky.
Under the beautiful sky we all were taking small steps and moving forward. Without any realization, we did get good momentum and, in that momentum, we started to climb a challenging rock patch. We all were in the vibe so, we were gradually moving upward along that difficult rock patch. I think we did not feel intimated by that rock patch because so far we had developed a resistance for that kind of uphill route. We were nearly climbing perpendicular rocks. In short, we were gambling on that small resistance without questioning anything. Finally, we reached a point where it wasn’t possible to climb further. So we sat there to take a small snack break, and while taking that respite everyone noticed that all of us have climbed an almost straight mountain. Everything was going well, but then a shocking thing happened, we saw a group of torches, but the light of those torches was coming from below us. I felt a rush of confusion in my mind so to get away with that fog of confusion, I screamed to those torches and asked, “ Are we on the right path?”
And then one answer came from that group of torches, and that answer shocked us all. That answer was, “You have lost the main route. That is a wrong path.” After hearing that answer, a sudden volcano of chaos erupted, but we somehow controlled the damage of that volcano by drinking a few Coldrinks. I was still unable to digest the fact that we chose the wrong path and came this far, so to find an alternate route, I started to roam around, and while wandering, I decided to go down to find an alternative. I have to do that because the path by which we came up was so difficult that the thought of going down by that path was soul-stirring.
So I started to go down a slippery path. And despite the fact that there weren’t any trees to hold or rely on, I kept going down to a point where there wasn’t any visible path. So, I changed my decision. I started to climb up but, then I realized climbing up is not as easy as coming down. I completely regrated my decision of coming down to find a route. I was a fool to think that. Those kinds of difficult situations don’t come alone, they come with the storms of panic. In that panic, I realized death is not too far from here, and in further context, I was somehow able to visualize my end. But with god’s grace, I came alive. After reaching up, I again regrated my decision. I will never carry out that kind of foolish mistake again.
By putting stones on our hearts, we started to go down by the path, which we climbed up. That was an inhuman path. In the first place, there wasn't any path. We were going down by a waterfall.
After performing that daunting assignment for consecutive 2 hours, one by one, we came down to a point where this massacre started, and after being gathered, we burst into laughs.
By that sole experience, our newbie wolves didn't only taste the blood of mountains, also swallowed the whole mountain.
