I bought this course in 2023 but could not finish it earlier. The people who buy the courses would know it. I guess we get Dopamine when we buy the course, we get the false illusion that we have gained something without even learning from that course. It's a vicious loop and I wanted to break that loop, so I completed this small course, here are my learnings/notes from the course.

Notes/Learnings:

    • Short-form content is booming everywhere, and short-form content is addictive.[I have heard that Twitter is also going to promote videos now.]

    • Reels are addictive. Instagram works because of people’s low attention span.

    • Instagram recommends your content to other people more than another platform.

    1. A good reel communicates/shares emotions. To communicate that message you have to work on it color grading, BG music, and sound effects help you to convey that emotion.

    • A tutorial reel shares the emotion of gaining knowledge

    • Footage of the sea (with proper color grading, BG music) shares the emotion that you want to convey.

    • Planning your reel:

    Step 1:

    1. Define your narrative and message

      1. What is the main message or story that you want to communicate?

      2. What emotions do you want to evoke in your audience?

      3. What is the call to action?

      4. What do you want viewers to take after watching the reel?

Step 2: hook - the first line (It’s the most important thing

    in the attention economy)

    Step 3: Create your storyboard

The art of filming: camera techniques and compositions

    • Keep your camera on eye line camera angle.

    • Depth of field - aperture - it blurs the frame that is not focused. A low aperture means more blur background and more focus on the subject.

    • Compositions:  foreground, midground, background, rule of thirds, for nature baseline, leading lines

    • Always go for 4K 30fps

    • How to shoot B-rolls-

      • shoot b- rolls in the web direction by keeping the subject in the center

    • How to talk to the camera: groom yourself, practice-practice-practice, see in the lens, Acting is important, Improvise your voice tone

    • Optimizing your account:

      • Write a good bio. Use “|” in the bio

      • How to train the algorithm :

        • Engage as much as possible with your niche accounts and followers

        • Shares matter the most

        • Have a library of videos on your profile

    • Data never lie, so study the data insights

    • Goals

      • Set clear goals

      • Create a content calendar

      • Create more than you consume
